Mary Poppins
With a mother named Julie Andrews and the weather looking decidedly patchy, I decided to try a new technique and create this Mary poppins image. I would have loved more indoor space to try a variety of ideas, but the back garden served me well for this initial shot. It's certainly a technique which I'll be using again in my portrait work.

Wacky Races
I ventured to a steam rally this weekend for the first time in a number of years, and I'd forgotten how much fun lawnmower racing could be. It was also the perfect chance to try a new technique - panning. It took a few shots to judge the speed of the 'vehicles' against shutter, and a few more to get the actual panning motion perfected, but I got there eventually...
