Wildlife #2
It's a common sight to see a Buzzard circling high above, but I've not had the lens reach to get a better look until now. And until I have a closer encounter I'm happy with this long distance, but fairly detailed backlit shot.

Wildlife Attempt #1
Coming back from a walk on Sunday I spotted a pair of Yellow Hammer birds feeding from the wheat fields. Sadly I was on the wrong side of a barbed wire fence and the aerial gymnasts maintained a comfortable 100ft between us!!!
Luckily, with a 200mm lens and a HEAVY crop I managed to get this.

Abstract Portraiture
War, What is it Good For?
Well, when it's a re-enactment of scenes from the English Civil War, great photo opportunities!!!
All taken on the 7D + 24-105 f/4L IS USM
My thanks to the many actors, enthusiasts and staff for a knowledgeable and enjoyable production.

Dream Lens
I've recently had the pleasure of testing a few Canon L series lenses with the intention of deciding on my first pro portrait lens. After a LOT of discussion with friends I finally splashed out on the Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8 IS USM II which has been on my wishlist since starting photography nearly 3 years ago.
Here is the first test shot taken @ 75mm 1/1600s f/2.8 ISO100 - Reduced saturation
